Discord is a VoIP and text chat program that, starting in 2016, became a popular alternative to similar programs such as Skype, which many members of the IRC used before or still use. It is notable for its focus on gaming, which is arguably the most significant aspect of the PWMW community.

December 8th, 2016[]
Because of its popularity and high levels of optimization compared to Skype, Mahboison created an unofficial Discord channel on December 8th, 2016. This channel was jointly owned and operated by both Anthony and Mahboison and mostly consisted of members of the IRC.

Discord Announcement Video (18/5/2017)

Anthony decided to create an Official PlayingWithMahWii Discord channel on May 14th, 2017. The former channel
created by Mahboison was changed into a private IRC Discord. This new Discord got its own announcement video on May 18th, 2017.

After asking Anthony, Mahboison deleted the old and mostly inactive unofficial Discord channel after letting schmutz play roulette with the banhammer.
